Tips to Deal with Panic Attacks - 5 Ways to Deal with Panic Attacks

The fact is that panic and anxiety attacks are scary. After you have experienced the very first panic attack, you cannot help but wonder when the next one is going to happen! I have been in a real life-threatening situation before, and I have to tell you that panic attacks were worse than that! Here are the five steps I implemented to deal with panic attacks!

The stimulant food and drinks such as coffee, sodas, sugar and energy drinks should be avoided at all times. In addition, coffee and smoking will trigger your panic attacks as well. In some instances alcohol may do so as well, but for me it was never during the intake of alcohol, but rather the day after that my panic attack would happen. I personally have eliminated all of these and replace my sodas and coffee with natural teas that help calm you down. The one that works for me is brand name Java and on the box it says Anxiety. You can find it at a lot of health stores. Some large grocery stores may carry them in they health section.

One very good way to deal with panic attacks is to talk about your issues with your family and friends. My best friend is my wife and even thought at first I had difficulty expressing myself, in the end it has helped me and saved me a lot of money avoiding therapy. For me, when I talk about what bothers me and I get it out of the system, being as simple as worrying if the panic attack is going to happen, it just lifts weight off my chest.

If you can you should exercise as well. I have a disability and I cannot run or fast-walk, but instead I lift weights. When you exercise, you get the negative energy out of your body and it helps you think clearly. After some of my exercise sessions, I was even able to figure out a solution for my issue. Plus, you will be in better shape.

Do not skip over relaxation techniques because they can really help you as well. Simple breathing exercises do miracles. Even when you exercise regularly, you breath in certain rhythm and that calms you as well. It is the same thing with breathing relaxation techniques. Here is the one that is very simple to do. If you can lay down, but if not sitting will be o.k. as well. It is always better to be in a room without any people in there, but if that is not possible, tune out all the noise. Than inhale very slowly and say, "I am", than exhale and say "relaxed". Repeat this at least 10 times and you will be surprised at the result.

The problem with panic attacks is that once you experienced your first one, you get scared and that fear stays with you. That is why we fear when the next one that is going to happen! That is the biggest problem! Our mind! You need to learn how to deal with panic attacks and how to stop them as soon as they start to happen! All this tips provided to you to deal with panic attacks come from my personal experience, but I know they work for many people.

My anxiety attacks were hurting my lifestyle a lot! I went from a fun guy to be around, to a person who just wanted to be left alone. With home remedies and one guide to change my mind set, I was able to go back to being who I used to be!
