Javea is located about eighty kilometres north east of Alicante, between Denia and Altea. Most people use the Alicante airport for flights into this area. This is a large international airport with flights from all over the world. Several discount airlines fly into this airport as well.
The city is situated between two bays: the Cabo San Martin and Cabo San Antonio. There are many natural and cultural attractions in the area. The climate is very favourable year round in the region. The nature park of Montgo is located on the sea in Javea. This park has abundant flora and fauna. The park is home to rare birds and plant species. It is a cultural heritage site and is a popular tourist attraction.
Golf lovers will enjoy the many courses in the area. You may want to stay in a hotel at a golf resort to be close to the course. Apartment and villa rentals are also available near most golf courses. Many of these resorts offer other amenities such as swimming pools, spas, restaurants and tennis.
If you are planning to travel around the area, you may want to consider a car hire. There are several companies that operate at the airport, or in the city. Hiring a car at the airport is easier. If you choose a company in town, most will pick you up at the airport and drop you off again at the end of your vacation.
You will need to reserve the car and your accommodations in advance. This is especially important when travelling in the summer months. This is the busy travel season in this region. Waiting until the last minute could result in nothing being available. Consider booking on line at least a few months in advance for the least hassle on your Javea vacation.
