List Building - Your Second 100 Subscribers
Once you have 100 subscribers, you should have an idea of the conversion rate on your squeeze page, and you can begin to adjust it.
Once you have 100 subscribers, you can begin to honestly observe the open rates of your emails in your email sequence.
When you are first getting started, I recommend that you write at least 20 emails for your email sequence. Why 20? With at least 20, it gives you the opportunity to see which emails have lower or higher open rates or clickthrough rates. If you have less than 20, it is harder to spot the really good or the really bad emails.
What I like to recommend is that once you have 100 subscribers, go into your email sequence and completely replace the 5 worst emails. Then make some adjustments to the next 5 up.
In two weeks, go back and do this again.
You will probably find that some of the emails you wrote this time around are out-performing some of the original emails.
In this case, once again drop the worst emails, rewrite the next ones up, and leave the best ones alone.
Over time, you will notice that your open rates and clickthrough rates are rising nicely.
The next thing you can begin to do with at least 100 subscribers is to ask them what they are looking for. They will give you ideas for creating products, and for the kind of content they are looking for. Of course, as you provide that for them and meet their needs, they will become more responsive and buy more from you.
