List Building - How to Use Articles to Fill Your List With Subscribers Who Trust You
One of the problems in list building is that when you run Adwords or advertise in an ezine, you get people on your list who are prone to click into things and sign up for things. They are not extremely interested in you or your product; they are on many lists anyhow, and you will just be one more email.
That obviously does not do much for your subscriber responsiveness.
But what I have found is that when I obtain subscribers via writing articles, it is like the ones that opt in generally want to be on my list. They read my emails. They send me questions. The buy my products.
Why?
I think that the key here is that when someone reads your article, and they like what they read, and they see your name attached to it, they begin to develop a bond with you.
They already like you before they click on your link. Unlike an ezine ad or Adwords.
They have already had a chance to see your style. If they dont like it, they will simply go to another article instead of opting in to your list.
One note: It is important that you write your own articles and your own emails, or at least have the same person write both, if you are contracting it out. Why? Because some of what they are bonding with when they read your article is your style of writing and of course they are associating your style of writing with you and your character.
