List Building 7 Tips to Get You Motivated

One of the problems in internet marketing list building is the long term boredom factor. You were excited when you first started list building, but over time you have become disillusioned with list building.

There are several reasons for this. The first is obvious. When you first got started with list building, you were excited about it, but that has since changed. This is normal, and of course this change in attitude is not just limited to list building.

Another reason for this is that your email list responsiveness has gone done. When you first started list building, you had 50-75% open rates, and you based your income projections on that. But long term in list building that is just not realistic. It happens when someone first gets on your list. But when you have been list building for awhile and your list gets big, your response rates you down. Just deal with it.

But all of that said about why you get demotivated when you are list building, here are some tips and techniques to get you re-motivated about your list building:

1) Send your entire subscriber list 3 free gifts this week. Make them good free gifts. Go out and buy something to send your list, or write some free 10 page, truly informative ebooks. You will generally get a few thank you notes from your opt in email list, and that always makes me feel good!

2) Write a few articles this week and post them to the top 5 article directories online. You will get some instant new subscribers to your list, and that always helps your email open rate and purchase rate.

3) Submit your squeeze page to at least 25 web directories online. This will also do wonders for your squeeze page, especially if it has at least 250 words of copy on it. Why not have your squeeze ranking in the search engine results for your chosen keywords?

4) Do an email swap with some of the marketers on your email list. Just send out an email asking your subscribers how many subscribers they have on their respective email lists. If you come across a few that have about as many as you do, offer to do an email swap you mail an offer for them to your list, and they mail an offer of your to their list.

5) Write an email to your list members asking them what they want to learn about. Then write at least 5 articles, one for each of the most popular subjects, and send them the articles as emails.

6) Write a new 10 page ebook, include some links to either your products, or some affiliate products, and send it to your email list, charging $5 for it. Although you wont have as many downloads as with a free ebook, your conversion rate on the affiliate links should be higher because the people who paid $5 for it really want to learn more, and are willing to spend money to get it.

7) Create a new squeeze page in a different, but related niche, and start marketing it like you did your first one. Your response rate on this one will be much higher than on your old list, and that will motivate you, too.
