Leadership and Visualization
In order to manage our life well, we need to know how to lead it in the way that we want. This requires the quality of leader. Follower will not be fulfilled since his leader may or may not help him to the direction he wants, if he has any. In this article we will talk about the qualities of leader and how to make use of it. We will also elaborate how we can use visualization to help enhancing this attribute in order to achieve what we want in all areas of life.
The leaders in the world have some similar characters which will be laid out here including :
1. Leader has courage. Leader is a human being and also like all the rest of the people, he has fear. However, he know how to manage fear and go into the direction that he follower dare not to do. In the old world, leader has to lead his troop into battles. This means risking his life and others. However, leader knows his mission and is willing to take risk for the sake of his ultimate goal. This is the same as in everyday life. We need to know that uncertainty is one factor of the game and we need to deal with it.
2. Leader has vision. Leader knows that sometime we need to bear the present consequence in order to enjoy long term fruitful results. Follower, on the contrary, prefers immediate pleasure and only wishes for a better future. Leader has step by step plan to get to the position he wants.
3. Leader is compassionate and sincere toward others. Leader who does not care about other people is a very dangerous leader. We have many examples of such leaders in the history. The dangerous leaders, all we can call tyranny, did not only destroyed lives of others, but also tarnish the history of mankind. Good leader do things for others especially the ones he leads rather than do things for himself or his family. He loves his group and is willing to sacrifice.
4. Leader is humble. Being in higher status, a lot of people may get obsess in his power and may abuse it. This does not happen to the real leader. He presents himself in a humble manner and can be associated with all type of people in his organization. He is not overbearing and is willing to accept mistake he or others make.
5. Leader is reader. He knows that knowledge is important thus he continuously pursue his study whenever he can. There is a research on the reading pattern of different group of people in the US. The result shows that average CEO read two books a month while the average person reads only one book a year. Besides, eighty per cent of the average reader s does not finish their first chapter. In addition, CEO earn in the rate of three hundred times of the average employee. Education makes differences in life. Leader knows this and he continuously invests in himself by study more in his relevant field.
6. Leader does not give up. He persists until he gets the result he wants. Winston Churchill gave out his speech on one quality that he thought was absolute value in his life. It was the sentence Never give up, Never ever give up. This is a famous phrase to keep in mind of all leaders. This quality alone will bring him to the top. Others respect him because of this attribute.
All six qualities are fundamental to most of the good leaders in the world. Although, many people call themselves leader, a lot of them do not qualify that position. The lack of these attributes will not only bring damage to his group but also bring failure to the leader himself. To get these attributes work, we can use visualization to stimulate our subconscious mind. Imagine ourselves perform best in each areas mentioned here. Visualize daily will enhance your qualities and will bring you the leadership status.
