Infomercials are paid programs that basically air whatever the sponsor requires of them. In these infomercials, you will find actors playing the role of a scientist who has just discovered a breakthrough product and wants to share it with the public. There are occasions, however, when the person featured is an actual physician. These physicians have already appeared in magazines and TV shows, adding to their credibility. They usually endorse products such as exercise equipment, workout videos and weight loss medication.
Exercise equipment claim to burn fat and help you slim down with less effort within a short period of time. Infomercial physicians provide scientific facts on how the equipment targets areas more efficiently, allowing you to see better results faster. Some equipment will allow you to work more than one body part at a time or allow you to do multiple exercises at once. These physicians attest that such equipment is ergonomically designed to protect you from unnecessary injuries.
Infomercial physicians also develop workout programs to help you lose weight faster. They usually work with physical trainers to develop their videos. The physical trainer featured in the show is usually someone who has worked with celebrities or famous athletes. The trainers guarantee that the workout programs are easy to follow and show instant results.
Weight loss medication in the form of digestible supplements or actual pills that promise to burn the fat, are usually endorsed by physicians on infomercials. They usually mention a newly discovered key ingredient in the product that produces the effect that you desire. They claim that the results are instant, that in a matter of days, you are guaranteed to see results.
It is recommended that you thoroughly research a product featured on an infomercial before you buy it. These products may not be banned, but not all of them deliver what they promise. Nor are they approved by real physicians and medical experts.
