How to Use Social Networking to Build a List Part I
There is a definite reason why people flock into different social networking websites. If you are simply looking for a wealth of target market, they are the perfect places to be. Myspace, for example, has thousands of new users every day, and its only one social networking type and website.
Building a list, whether e-mail or newsletter subscription, therefore in these websites can be practically easy if you know how to do it. Here are a number of tips that you can adhere to:
1. Insert a link in your profiles. There are numerous social networking websites that will permit you to add your websites link into your profile. It can also be helpful if your username and even your avatar speaks of what kind of business you have and what type of branding or business image you are trying to project to your target market.
2. Participate in different forums. You can definitely find forums which are related to your chosen niche. You can then sign up on them and participate. These may be in the form of replies to certain questions or starting your own discussion. Dont forget to include a link of your website into the pages of the forums as well as to your profile.
3. Submit posts to other blogs. Blogs flood the World Wide Web, so looking for those that are associated with your field is pretty easy. You can contact their administrator and ask if they will be open in having you as a guest blogger. You can then incorporate your link into your articles.
4. Create contests. Doesnt anybody enjoy contests and other forms of challenges? It can definitely attract traffic going into your website. Now heres a great tip for you. If you have a stable page rank and you go for no no-follow attributes, you can also offer a backlink to the winner, besides the prize, if they subscribe to your newsletter. You can even do these for all Myspace, Friendster, Hi5, and all other social networking website users.
