How To Stop Panic Attacks

Panic Attacks are one specific type of anxiety disorders as are obsessive-compulsive disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, phobias, generalized anxiety and social anxiety. For all the types listed, anxiety therapy has proven to be very effective in providing relief for sufferers.

Panic attacks or anxiety attacks are associated with intense feelings of fear and anxiety that can come on very suddenly. Some of the more common physical symptoms during an anxiety attack are a rapid heart beat, shaking or trembling, rapid breathing or shallow breathing, hot flushes or chills, and feeling dizzy or light-headed, and often as if everything is "closing in on you."

Panic attacks are not physically harmful and will often fade within 30 minutes.

Panic attacks wreak havoc emotionally by causing their victims to withdraw from situations, relationships, challenges and even their own goals and dreams. Sufferers begin living in fear of their next attack which only heightens the intense unpleasant feelings of fear and anxiety.
