Holiday Rentals : Are Free Listings Really Free?
If you own a holiday rental property you are probably aware of the dilema you face each year deciding how to market your rental. Do you go with one of the larger sites and pay 150 to be listed? Or do you trawl through the search engines looking for all the free sites?
There are pros and cons to both. The larger sites generally have good rankings within search engines and will generate bookings for your rental if your price is right. But the downside is you will have to pay a fee of around 150 pounds to be listed.
On the other hand there are sites that will offer you a free listing. These sites generally do not have very good rankings within search engines, and chances are you will not get a booking from your free listing.
The best way to market your rental in my opinion is to take advantage of pay sites that offer free trial periods. These can be anything from one month to 6 months. These sites will generally be sites that have good search engine rankings, but are not as well established as some of the larger sites and will be looking to offer free trials as a way of showing you what they can do. With this option you can test the water to see what sort of respose you get, before you take out a fully paid listing.
One such site that I can recommend is Holiday Rentals 365 They are a fairly new site, that offer a free trial period. They are working hard to market the site and are getting some good rankings within search engine results. They are also spending money on conventional advertising methods to gain more publicity for the site, which is always a good thing.
