Death and Adjustment - The Hypothesis - Introduction
Existence is the main motto of our life. Life is the state of existence. Everything we do relates us to our existence. When we feel like improving our quality of existence, we take steps. In fact the world is running with the dynamics of existence. We can say that existence is at the centre of the dynamics of life on earth. And thats why death is such an important issue, as because undoubtedly death is the biggest threat to existence. It can come via natural calamity, or via war or even via dream or apprehension. But all that threatens us to such extent is insecurity about any factor related to our desired existence.
Of course, existence seeks for a minimum of standard whenever possible, but in case of change of scope, unacceptable standard of existence is also accepted for the sake of keeping the existence patent. So keeping death away from our life is consciously or preconsciously or may be even unconsciously the main goal and motivation behind every activity we accommodate in our life. What I try to mean here is existence or death may not be the immediate concern but the ultimate concern is always that deep. A very simple example can clarify this. We use shoes for our feet. We do it basically because if we dont, our feet will be dirty, or hurt. Dirt represents threat to clean existence.
Threat to clean existence indicates threat to mere existence. Severe, i.e., continuous threat towards any aspect related to existence can take us up to severe disturbance, thus, severe disability and ultimately to death. Hurt can more easily lead our understanding towards death than dirt do. This will seem peculiar because we deal with the initial or the superficial portion of problems in our conscious mind. As a result the rests seem very unusual. But after rational explanation of the consequences up to the extreme, none can deny it. It is true that explanations can be lengthy or complicated sometimes, but link is always there.
Now, we see, we spend whole of our life struggling for existence. So the position of death in our life as the most threatening information for our existence is of intense interest for me or any other people like me who believes in remedy even for the challenges like permanent cessation of existence. This series of article is intended to address the purpose, impact, adjustment or any other aspect related to death that might help us improve the quality of human life via improving our view towards the problem.
