Dealing With Panic Attacks - You Are Not Going Crazy
I remember the first time I experienced a panic attack and the very very thing that entered my mind is I must be going crazy. The confusion of being in the middle of an every daysimple task and suddenly feeling overwhelmed with a sense of pending doom is frightening to say the least.
Even though I has been dealing with panic attacks through watching my mother have them for many years, I never thought I would experience them myself. Living with someone with panic disorder is one thing but the feeling you have when the first one hits you is overwhelming.
If you have experienced the felling that you have to get out of what ever place or situation you are in "right now" because something bad is going to happen, the rapid heart beat, difficulty breathing and other symptoms that come along with extreme anxiety will have you wondering if you are going crazy.
Not to fear, you are not loosing your mind. These feeling brought on normally with periods of extreme stress or a traumatic experience in most people will last for one or a couple episodes and never reoccur again. For those who experience on going episodes of panic attacks it is commonly diagnosed as panic disorder and there are great treatments available to help right away.
Conventional medicine will generally prescribe anti depression medication which serves to mask the symptoms but what you really want to do is get to the root cause of the issue and learn to dealing with panic attacks in order to stop them all together.
In recent years there has been many alternative treatment methods that help to allow you to get to the cause of these feelings and be able to learn to handle or get rid of them all together. This is not a disease that manifests through any physical ailments and can be treated using self taught psychological techniques that can end panic attacks forever.
