Anti-Aging Vitamins - The Best from the Bottle

Skin Care Anti-Aging Guide

Thankfully, there is hope! Lets look at a few tools that can help slow the aging process and give our skin a youthful glow:

1. What you are is what you eat\r Remember that old saying? It is true that by consuming fruits and vegetables, especially brightly coloured fruit and leafy greens, we are giving our bodies vitamins and antioxidants that combat the breakdown of collagen and elastin in our skin. Also important is to make sure to drink water every day. Studies tell us different amounts to drink, from 2 glasses to 8, but they all agree on one thing: drinking water is good for you!

2. Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize\r Think of all the hot showers and baths you have taken; sure, they clean your skin, but they also dry it out. Our skin gets drier as part of the aging process, too. So, the best thing to combat dryness, of course, is to get some moisturizer and apply it! Your local drug store or beauty spa sells a great variety of moisturizers, and one of them will be just the right one for your skin. Ask the beauty advisor or pharmacist for assistance if youre not sure which one to buy.

3. Sun exposure = sun damage\r You can enjoy the warmth of the sun without damaging your skin simply by wearing sunscreen. An SPF rating of 15 or higher is recommended, and its important to reapply if you are outside for long periods of time, or have been swimming or exercising. The UVA and UVB rays that come from the sun contribute to wrinkles, dryness, and of course sunburn. There is also the risk of skin cancer. So, take a couple of minutes to slather on some sunscreen, and have fun in the outdoors while taking care of your skin!

4. The AHA Factor\r AHA, or Alpha Hydroxy Acid, is a chemical commonly found in moisturizers and other skin care products. If your skin is looking dull, AHA works to get rid of old skin cells and get your skin looking soft and healthy.

5. Get your beauty sleep\r Take time to get some sleep at least 7 to 8 hours per night. While we sleep, our bodies recharge and prepare for a new day. Our skin recharges too. So, no matter how busy your day is, keep an eye on that clock, and before it gets late, take a few moments to relax and unwind. This will help you get the restful sleep you, and your skin, need.

Anti Aging - Choosing The Right Product

There are a great many vitamins, minerals, etc to consider when choosing a skin care product especially when your aim is to reduce the signs of aging on your skin. From year to year the advice changes, one year its all about chemical peels and the next its all about microderm abrasion, and when it comes to creams it can seem a little overwhelming.

There are 2 important things to consider when deciding on an anti aging product. Firstly, the price and secondly the ingredients

Its no secret that the cosmetics companies make large amounts of money from sales of their products but ultimately we have to look at the price/value relationship. Many products nowadays charge premium prices but offer little in the way of value.

It came as quite a surprise to me when I first began designing our cream. I couldnt believe that companies were either charging so little and offering so many ingredients (they were either being creative with their ingredient list, using a fraction of the ingredient instead of the most beneficial amount, or using sub-standard quality ingredients), or they were charging so much and offering so little in the way of ingredients.

I faced an important decision early on about how I would like Sezeur to develop. I believe that its vitally important to manufacture the best possible product and then work out the price from there. Our specialist chemists asked us how high we wanted the quality of our cream and we asked them to use only the highest quality ingredients available.

As the owner of a cosmetic company which specialises in anti aging cream, Im inclined to believe 2 things. When it comes to budget creams, you definitely get what you pay for. When you begin to look at more expensive products I would suggest looking at the list of ingredients and also client testimonials.

Any company serious about its future understands that in order to survive and prosper it needs to have repeat sales from its clients. This is only possible if you have made a high quality product, and providing people feel theyve received value for money they will talk about it positively.

High quality ingredients arent cheap and if youre considering a product with 4 or 5 ingredients but its priced cheaply then be alert. It could be that the company is inexperienced and not charging enough in order to cover its manufacturing and marketing expenses, in which case it will either go bankrupt or raise its prices sharply, or its possible that its misleading you with the ingredient list.

Similarly, a product with only 1 or 2 ingredients and a premium price tag may be assuming that you dont know too much about the industry and may be asking you to pay for the privilege of telling your friends you use Brand X.

I would recommend always looking at the price vs the number of ingredients offered. Where you personally feel comfortable on that scale is down to you. Some people only want budget products and are happy to trade a bit of quality for that whilst others may want only the most expensive product without caring so much about its effectiveness because they love being able to tell their friends they use only the best (ie most expensive).

A discerning mind will stand you in good stead when making your decision to purchase the right anti aging product for you. Hopefully, you now have a little more insight into this field from an owners viewpoint.

The Molecules of Your Life - Are Your Anti-Aging Products

This article is written to introduce you to a few of the key chemicals that take part in your living - and in turn, become your anti-aging products.

The master molecule of life, is DNA. It is the master of all bodily functions. This amazing material is the blueprint that specifies the way your body is built, the way your body is repaired, your height, eye color, hair color, skin color, blood type, tissue type, susceptibility to disease, and, the aging mechanisms of your body. The major cause of aging, is now attributed to damage to our DNA.

These same molecules that serve us by keeping us alive and healthy, can, if they fail to do their jobs, lead us to old age, and eventually to death. The story of these molecules is the story of our lives - how we live, how we age, and how we can slow down and even partially reverse the aging process. I only discuss some of the most important classes of bio-chemicals here, which form the basis our physical structures and functions as living human beings.

RNA, ribonucleic acid, is a molecule closely related to DNA. It is made by DNA and used for copying pieces of the DNA instructions - which are used to make proteins. To keep this from being too technical, I was once told while taking a chemistry course, how to visualize proteins - maybe this will help you. Picture proteins as little machines, sometimes they even include moving parts. The pieces of a protein molecule can swing into place to bring other chemicals into proper positioning for bio-chemical reactions. They serve as supporting structures just like the steel framework of a large building does. Proteins then, in turn, are made up of amino acids. Some amino acids are essential, meaning that we cannot manufacture them in our bodies. We have to obtain these essential amino acids from our environment (food, etc.) in order to survive.

Now, some other classes of bio-chemicals include carbohydrates. These are simple sugars, or sugars that are linked together to form starches, which are an important source of energy for our bodies. Lipids, another class, are fats and oils, and they are another source of energy. Lipids are also a source of essential fatty acids. Vitamins are another class of bio-chemicals. These are molecules which are required by our bodies for normal metabolism. We can manufacture some of them in our bodies, and these are called nonessential vitamins. It is interesting to note here, that although we can manufacture these nonessential vitamins, we may not be able to manufacture enough of them for maximum protection of our bodies. This is the case with the B vitamin, PABA. Other vitamins are called essential, such as vitamin A and C, and must be obtained from the environment for our survival.

Even though we have the ability to manufacture particular nutrients, it is still an advantage to take supplementary amounts. When nutrients are manufactured in our bodies, it is done with the expenditure of raw materials and scarce resources - such as enzymes. Sometimes, it is more cost-effective to get these nutrients, or vitamins, from a supplement rather than by manufacturing them ourselves.

Anti-aging, or life extension, is using the bio-chemicals that make up the building blocks of our bodies in particular amounts and in synergy which allows our bodies to prevent damage to our DNA.
