Article Marketing Mistakes - What You Should NOT Do To Be An Effective Article Marketer

Publishing Articles with no Market Potential

Before you start marketing articles, writing articles, or posting them anywhere online, youll want to know if your articles have any potential market? Do they fill a need online? Do they answer questions people are actually asking?

If your articles give information nobody is asking for --- nobody will read them.

Article Information Overload Trauma

Articles are short bits of information that bring readers back to your website. The purpose of writing articles is to give the reader enough information to ignite the desire to visit your website so they can learn more. If you overload your article, you create an overload trauma and the reader doesnt know what to do with it.

Get to the point, give you reader enough information to bring them back, give them a link.

Over Promoting the Topic

Dont sell your information in the article. This isnt a sales letter. Its an informative bit of information that will encourage the reader to want more information. Stamp the article with your brand, outline your topic, and give a link back to your site for more information. If the reader is interested they will click the link without additional promotion.

Take the opportunity to provide information, save the promotion for your Sales Page.

Link overload in the Resource Box.

More than one link in the resource box gives the reader too many options. A question leading the readers to say YES to your website link, directives of what they will find at your website, and a single link are all you need in the resource box. I add the copyright and my name after the link (many readers dont even read that far - they clicked the link already).

A leading question, a call to action, and the link is all you need.

No Strategic Plan of Action

An Article Marketing Campaign that lacks planning or strategy will fall flat. You must have a plan of action to guide you and to measure your accomplishment. Even a simple strategy, such as 7 articles to 7 article marketing sites to build 700 new links will be helpful. But there are better article marketing plans you could set into action.

Write your plan, work your plan, get great results.
